We’d like the RAW files…..that old chestnut..

Keeping lockdown light and my post recipe tight!

Wedding Photography is without a doubt my biggest passion, I absolutely love my job, my clients and ofcourse the process in which I perform to give back the ultimate magical story of your special day.

Upon reading this email that graces my inbox from time to time I try really hard not to be upset with my clients who ask instead assuming they didn’t really understand the full meaning of RAW. After informing me that Photoshop nor lightroom is not part of their lingo their request is becoming clearer in the fact they didn’t really understand what they had asked me for.

RAW files simply do not open in Preview or Paint, these are very large files that are subjected to software high enough in the food chain that not every tom dick or harry happens to possess, after clarifying that then comes the feeling of insult that you do believe you can edit RAW images better than myself after the 11year intimate relationship adobe and I have together.

Obviously these requests have come from individuals that admire my work which is fantastic, the way I capture emotion, intimacy, love and the way each photo has been presented…that my friends is the product that I am selling, the complete, edited finished product that I have managed to perfect of the 11 years of shooting. I have spent long hours in researching, practicing and finally producing the look of my images in which I wish to produce to you as the story of “Your Wedding Day”…

Bright cross processed and spot color flowers came and went as fast as chatter rings and pro yo’s for a reason, the latest craze that quickly disappeared need I say more…Culling through thousands of images to find the best is what we do, hours and hours of sorting, adjusting, enhancing is all the process we as photographers do to produce the selection of images that catches they eyes of couples who book us for their special day…

To sum it up….Giving RAW files is an inaccurate representation of my work, the work you see presented on my website, and social platforms is the FINISHED PRODUCT in which you liked enough to pay for….. After all who walks into a bar and asks for the ingredients of a beloved Heineken when all they wanted was an ice cold beer?
